Dear Old Friends and New,

Where does one truly begin to tell their own story without becoming terribly dull and pretentious? You may call me C.J., a name that has meaning only to me, and I quite like it that way.

I grew up much like Harry Potter, under the staircase of cruel and hateful relatives after the death of my beloved grandmother. Like many other odd and neuro-divergent children, I found sanctuary in books and between quiet isles filled with R.L. Stein and Agatha Christie. There my love of reading and writing stories flourished. I was much like my grandmother in that way, writing on any page that I could get my hands on. I didn’t take it very seriously until I found the last piece my grandmother probably ever wrote, and it was about me of all people. Little. Frightened. Unimportant me. It was then that I decided to dedicate my life to writing not just for fun, but maybe to give someone else a sanctuary to hide in, as well.

I graduated college in 2016 with a BFA in Screenwriting and have since taken to writing mostly short fiction. You can find some examples of my work under “Free Reads” above. I am currently working on a full-length fantasy novel which I plan to post more about on my Blog.
